All Things Conflict:  How to Manage Conflict of Interest, Conflict Management and Get To Solutions Together

Conflict can permeate both our business and personal lives and is often the driver of failed relationships. When it comes to conflict, equipping yourself with tools, conversation starters and being able to identify triggers can help you in all aspects of your life. Join MPI D/FW and HSMAI in a joint luncheon with Michelle Johnson, event professional, board facilitator, and business owner, as we explore techniques to help you find a common ground for accountability, from an employee or boss to a volunteer or friend. Learn how to “love” conflict – well, at least learn how to face it head on and be able to manage it!

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  1. Identify conflict and accept the behaviors it comes with from both sides of the story.
  2. Know the difference between a situation that need to be dealt with and those you are ok to let go of.
  3. Get a mutual agreement on accountability in all aspects of your life – employment, home and volunteering.
  4. Learn how to prepare and successfully hold a “difficult” conversation

Noel Mendoza is the Human Trafficking Outreach Program Director at Mosaic Family Services and has been at Mosaic for almost 7 years providing outreach to youth, families, professionals and the public at large throughout Dallas.   Noel has been working in the non-profit sector for over 11 years and has maintained a passion for facilitating dialogues within local communities about the accessing of resources among those community members who need them most.  His time at Mosaic has been unique in that Mosaic is an agency that has over 25 countries and languages represented throughout it’s staff!  This fact has helped Noel gain a deep appreciation for the diversity that is found in the communities throughout North Texas.  Noel received a Bachelors of Science from The University of North Texas at Dallas and is looking forward to beginning a Masters program in the near future.  He plans to continue his work in the social services sector and remain a constant student of the experience gained throughout his work.
